My menubar area is subject to constant change, so the states below are only snapshots.

  2. iRed Lite — use the Apple Remote in other applications.
  3. SlimBatteryMonitor — replacement for the standard battery display; freeware.
  4. SoundSource — quickly switch audio in- and outputs; freeware.
  5. MenuMeters — status monitor for CPU, RAM and disk access; more options available; GPL.
  6. Volume control.
  7. Input menu.
  8. Keychain Access menu to lock keychains or screen. Can be enabled in Utilities: Keychain Access: Preferences.
  9. AirPort status.
  10. Bluetooth status.
  11. The standard clock. Back to numeric display.
  12. Icon for fast user switching. Can be enabled in System Preferences: Accounts: Login Options.

  1. Nocturne by Blacktree, the makers of Quicksilver. It can darken your screen for easier viewing in dark environments.
  2. Skype.
  3. Mailplane.app — "Brings Gmail to your Mac desktop"; currently in closed beta test.
  4. CoconutWiFi — shows if there are WiFi networks in range and whether they are encrypted or not.
  5. iRed Lite — use the Apple Remote in other applications.
